That can be said especially if you are a gamer who frequently plays multiplayer games online with friends. In that case, this router can do a lot for you and your requirements. We’re extremely happy to see it equipped with a 512 MB RAM. That’s quite enough to support this powerful CPU in extreme conditions.

The data transfer rate of the Asus RT-AC88U is 3167 Mbps which is more than enough for the regular router usages. It’s very easy to set up and later navigate and find stuff, just as in Synology‘s custom Web OS called Synology Router Manager. Asus has its own, and it’s very well optimized. What’s better – it comes with a built-in VPN server to keep you safe. All your home network data is protected and safe from malware and attacks. It doesn’t come cheap, but we think it’s worth the price to get a sleek black-red combination of a router.

Don’t let that fool you, it sports MU-MIMO features to it, just like D-Link EXO AC2600. If you’re not aware what it exactly means, we’ll put it this way. The more devices you have connected, they slower the Wi-Fi moves. However, with MU-MIMO, each device waits its turn to send and receive data, thus making it very fast and optimized. And why would you want eight LAN ports and many devices over Wi-Fi only to have them slow down? In the end, Asus RT-AC88U comes with every feature under the sun, but it doesn’t come cheap. If you’ve got multiple members or the family or a big home, it might be worth investing in it.
