Infinix Hot 12 is a good value-for-money phone, whose highlights include battery life and design. In case your priority is camera performance, you’re better off with a rival phone. This is because the camera performance is simply average. On the back, the phone has a 13 MP wide-angle camera, 2 MP camera, and a QVGA camera. Flip the phone, and you’ll find an 8 MP camera for selfies and video communications. As expected, the phone’s features include Dual-LED flash, and it can record videos up to 1080p@30fps.
Considering the price, its display quality is standard as well. Infinix Hot 12 has a 6.82-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9. While the screen-to-body ratio of 84.5% is decent, the PPI density of 259 could have been better. In 2022, you’ll rarely find a phone with an AMOLED screen at this price. However, you can find a phone that has an FHD+ resolution. On the bright side of things, it has a 90 Hz refresh rate, which is uncommon in its segment. What is highly praiseworthy here is that the phone has stereo speakers. This is because it is absent in many of the pricier phones as well.
Your wired earphones will work just fine on this phone, as it has a headphone jack. The phone is sturdy, so you don’t need to worry about its build quality. Infinix Hot 12 has a glass front with a plastic frame, as is typical for phones in this budget. It’s worth mentioning here that the plastic back panel has a glossy finish. As a result, it picks up fingerprints and smudges easily. In terms of looks, however, the phone is superb. It is available in four colors, Racing Black, Legend White, Origin Blue, and Lucky Green. The phone’s performance is smooth thanks to the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset.
That isn’t exactly a surprise, as it is among the stronger chipsets you can get in the budget. Its gaming requirements are handled by the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. As for the software, it runs Android 12 out-of-the-box with XOS 10.6 on top. It is among the first Infinix phones to ship with Android 12. Needless to say, this is a major plus of owning the phone. Infinix phones are known to come with Bloatware. Sadly, Infinix Hot 12 is no different. The device’s sensors include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
For communication, the phone has dual-band Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, and USB. Battery life is excellent on this, as it lasts for close to two days on average use. Infinix Hot 12 has a 5000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery with support for 18W fast charging. Its only variant has 6 GB RAM / 128 GB ROM and is priced at about €150 (about $161). While the configuration of the base variant should be more than enough for most users, it supports an SD card as well. In addition, the phone supports two Nano-SIM cards and connections up to 4G.
