Everything Specs
Last year’s Samsung Galaxy J5 was a solid smartphone, but maybe little overpriced. Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), however, isn’t bringing almost any hope for the series. We know that Samsung loves AMOLED displays and here is that case. It’s slightly bigger than the last year’s model, with its size of 5.2″ and the same 720p resolution. There aren’t improvements in that department, but there is Android 7.1 (Nougat) OS, which is surely an improvement over the last year. The CPU located here is Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and Mali-T830MP2 mediocre GPU.
This should be a mid-range device, but it slightly falls short of that. The 13 MP camera here is average at its best and can record 1080p videos at 30 fps. However, the secondary camera is now 13 MP camera with lots of improvements, so you can now take better selfies. Still, it’s hard to recommend Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) for its $329 price.

Samsung smartphones were always one of my favorite but i think that they always overprice them at some point. J5 2017 looks and feels great and i like the addition of 13 MP front camera. Now i can take quality selfies for Instagram and Facebook. it also has 2 GB of RAM… enough for me.
