Samsung really outdid their last model with this one – Samsung Galaxy S8+ is the newest addition to S family, and an insanely good at that, setting new standards for the rivals around the world. If you like tall, slim phones, this is certainly the phone to keep an eye on. It has a unibody look to it, looks metallic and shiny. With an InfinityEdge type of screen Samsung has presented, it slopes off to the sides, making it look like a window to the future. Let’s take a look at specs of Samsung Galaxy S8+ that make it worth all the praise.
It is blessed with one of the biggest screens available on today’s market – 6,2-inch in diameter, but Samsung did not make any sacrifices on that fact – it has a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels with 529 ppi density, which is almost unheard of. That should assure you that you’ll be looking at a razor-sharp screen whether playing games, reading a book or watching your favorite Godfather installment. Super AMOLED is a thing to die for, providing extremely bright and vivid experience, with a great color palette, and being promised to stay that way by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, in case of a drunk night out.
The next thing we just can’t go on without mentioning – 12 MP back camera perfection that Samsung Galaxy S8+ brings. Not only will you be able to create stunning and vivid visual masterpieces, you’ll be sure nothing can damage it. Not only has Samsung included an IP68 protection technology, which will allow you to take your phone at about 1,5 meter of depth for approximately 30 minutes. They redesigned the camera placement on the back as well. Samsung also removed the ugly camera bump. It simply outlines the flat lens with a tiny lip, which is a great decision. All that may save your camera if you do happen to drop it and crack the back glass.
Samsung Galaxy S8+ features are a thing of the future too. Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (2.35GHz + 1.9GHz) processor is at the top of the game by today’s standards. The processor brings fast and efficient power to your machine. Adreno 540 GPU is present here, and in a deadly combination with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, it packs quite a punch. Unlike with iPhone’s newest model, you can use a microSD card to expand what you already have available. For a price of Samsung Galaxy S8+, only 835$, you can choose between 64GB or 128GB of internal memory.
Let’s talk about some of the features people found less-ideal. The first one you’ll notice is its back-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is present and working flawlessly, but only when you can reach it, that is. With 6,2-inch in diameter, it’s already pretty hard to go from edge to edge without using two hands. You can imagine how hard it’ll be to reach a sensor which is right next to the camera. All that while trying to hold your phone from slipping out of your hands. Using your face to unlock has shown some problems with recognizing our faces, we have to be honest. However, an iris scanner that’s present from some older models has definitely proven very useful in this case.
