Vivo X80 Pro is one of those phones that does well in almost every department while also being superb in a few. The phone isn’t without any flaws, though. With a starting price of $909, it is safe to say that the phone is expensive. The other major issue with this phone is the software experience it delivers. This is because Funtouch 12 is filled with bloatware. Now, this isn’t a new issue, but at this price, it shouldn’t even be one. In addition to Funtouch 12, the phone runs Android 12 out-of-the-box. The phone uses the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and delivers a performance worthy of its reputation.

The gaming performance delivered by the Adreno 730 GPU is just as good. The phone will get three years of major operating system and security updates, which is nice to see, though it isn’t the best in the segment. What is surely among the best in the segment is the phone’s display quality. It has a 6.78-inch FHD+ LTPO3 AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both the screen-to-body ratio of 89.9% and PPI density of 517 are highly impressive. Vivo X80 Pro can go up to 1500 nits of brightness, which means you will have no issue using the phone in any lighting conditions.

In the communication department, the phone has both high-resolution audio and stereo speakers. The presence of Type-C earphones in the box of the device is a pleasant surprise. Another area where the phone is absolutely superb is its camera performance. You can feel that the phone is serious about its camera performance by merely looking at the camera module. The phone has a 50 MP wide-angle camera with OIS, 8 MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 5x optical zoom, 12 MP telephoto camera with gimbal OIS and 2x optical zoom, and 48 MP ultrawide camera.

On the front, it has a 32 MP wide-angle selfie camera. Besides, the usual camera features, the phone has Zeiss optics, dual-LED dual-tone flash, and gyro-EIS. The rear camera setup can record videos up to 8K while the selfie camera is limited to 4K. Connectivity options include USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, USB On-The-Go, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi, a Hotspot, and the very uncommon Infrared Port. As for the sensors, the device has a color spectrum sensor besides all the usual ones. Vivo X80 Pro should last for a day on heavy use, and an additional half-day if you’re an average user.

Therefore, it’s safe to say that the battery backup is awesome. The phone has a 4700 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery that supports 80W fast charging. One of the major highlights of this phone is its design. It has a distinct look, and it comes in Cosmic Black, Blue, and Orange. The Orange is surely the more eye-catching of the three. Vivo X80 Pro has an aluminum frame and a glass front protected by Schott Xensation. For the back panel, you get to choose between a glass back, ceramic back, and eco leatherback.

The phone is sturdy, thin, and does a good job resisting fingerprints. In addition, the phone is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. Based on the color you pick, the phone’s weight will be 215g or 219g. Vivo X80 Pro measures 6.48 by 2.96 by 0.36 inches. It comes in three RAM/ROM combinations, which are 8 GB / 256 GB, 12 GB / 256 GB, and 12 GB / 512 GB. Like most phones, it doesn’t support an SD card but can handle two Nano-SIM cards and connections up to 5G.
