If you are in the market looking for the best OnePlus phone, the OnePlus 9 Pro should be your choice. The device is available in three RAM and internal storage options. The base variant has 8 GB RAM with 128 GB of internal storage. The other two variants have 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage and 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage. The phone comes at a starting price of $669. For color, there are three options once again, namely, Morning Mist, Forest Green, and Stellar Black.

Seeing how it is the company’s flagship phone in 2021, it makes sense that it uses the fastest Snapdragon processor to date, the Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G. The device is equipped with the Adreno 660 to offer you a smooth gaming experience. However, on the subject of gaming, it should be mentioned that the device does get really warm after heavy gaming. On the software side of things, the OnePlus 9 Pro runs Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.2.7.7 on top. The phone’s performance is velvet smooth and when it comes to updates, it will get three major Android updates and security updates for four years.

Coming to the screen quality, the device has a 6.7-inch LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED screen which consumes less battery according to OnePlus. The screen-to-body ratio of 90.3%, the aspect ratio of 20:9, and the PPI density of 525 ensure that you have a smooth multimedia experience. The phone can go up to 1300 nits of brightness. Therefore, you won’t face any issues while using the phone outdoors. The build quality of this phone is nothing short of amazing as it has an aluminum frame. Besides, both glass front and back are protected by Gorilla Glass 5. What’s also nice to see is that the OnePlus 9 Pro has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Coming to the camera, the phone has a quad-camera set-up on the rear. It has a 48 MP wide-angle camera, an 8 MP telephoto camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP monochrome camera. The unique part of this phone’s cameras is that they are developed in partnership with the popular photograph company, Hasselblad. Besides the usual camera features like dual-LED flash, HDR, and panorama, it also has Hasselblad color calibration, as you would expect. On the front, the OnePlus 9 Pro has a 16 MP wide-angle camera for selfies and video calls.

The rear camera setup allows you to record videos in 8K, 4K, and 1080p. In contrast, the front camera can record videos in 1080p. The overall camera performance of the phone is great. However, the performance delivered by the selfie camera doesn’t quite match the standards set by the rear camera setup. As far as the battery backup is concerned, the phone should last for more than a day on a single charge. The OnePlus 9 Pro has a 4500 mAh lithium-polymer battery that supports 65W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

For communication, the phone has USB Type-C 3.1, USB On-The-Go, NFC, and GPS. It also has Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and a hotspot. The phone has all the usual sensors as well as, in the sound department, stereo speakers, and high-resolution audio. However, the OnePlus 9 Pro lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Therefore, if you want to listen to music privately, you will have to use Bluetooth earphones.
